Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

ants vs termites: an ancient rivalry
yeah i know the title sucks...
i was scanning (yes, i do read the encyclopedia) through my encyclopedia which
were hard bound, and having recently watched mel gibson's brave heart, i decided to lookup
on sir william wallace the famed scottish hero. unfortunately, instead of seeing wallace on the page, i ended up seeing a termite head peering at me! (i guess the quest of knowledge is full of surprises)
this has happened before and apparently once again the termites caught me off-guard again. and so being the crazed sadistic kid who likes to improvise, i picked up a pin and started poking at them. well this would have been effective if i was deeling with only one or two bugs, but knowing that termites DO come in package i have to deal with at least a dozen or more. fortunately for me, after watching discovery channel most of my life and also having recently "re-watched" ANTZ wherein i remembered the scene where Z and some other unfortunate ants go off into battle to kill the termites, i figured why dont i put the encyclopedia near a trail of ants, and so i did! it was interesting because the moment i put the book infront of the already busy ants the moment they found out, wham! (of course it never sounded like that when they found out) the ants were all over the place. you sould see that the termites where twice the size of the ants, but just like what barbatus (Z's friend in the army) said when asked about how their going to beat the termites, he simply said "by shear numbers." this came into play when the ants (im talking about real life now and not the movie) through shear numbers pulled out the termites one by one from the holes that they made in the book. it was a site to see and i realized that this was one effective way of getting rid of pests in your house. and you gotta admit, this is another reason why we shouldnt step on our little friends (im talking about the ants).
so in less than an hour, my encyclopedia was cleansed of them bloody termites, thanks to the ants.
TRIVIA:
Termites eat twice as fast when hearing metalic sounds. (so keep this in mind the next time you listen to rock music)
