Major Pain (in d'ass!)
if your familiar with this movie which im sure you guys are, being a cadet in the reserve
officer training course isnt simply a walk in the park (or in major payne's case, a walk
in the warzone). but come to think of it, whoever said that training to be the country's
future defenders would be easy, especially if you have an officer who, as the title says,
a pain in the ass! well fortunately for me, my CAT training back at highschool has somehow
payed off. im familiar with the commands and the SOPs, unfortuantely our platoon leader
doesnt. now i understand that not all our officers have actually had CAT back in their
highschool so it will require some patience on my part especially when the "dude" gives
you a stare for laughing even though we were "at ease". but what pisses me off would be
cadet officers who are more experienced than the 4th class officers, not because they know
more (which means you cant make fun of them) but because they seem to abuse that knowledge.
according to the great uncle ben (no, not benjamin franklin, im talking about peter parker's
uncle) "with great power comes great responsibility" which means that these guys shouldnt
abuse their power, especially if it isnt their assigned company (now that right there simply
pisses me off big time!) unfortunately, i guess in the army, there are a lot of exeptions.
but never the less you cant threaten someone who doesnt even know the system works just yet (im referring to the other cadets and cadettes who are still unfamiliar with military training). but lets just see how things progress.
on the brighter side, i guess i have to admit, our cadette officer (the one assigned to our company) is better and friendlier, not to mention a looker at the same time(woohoo!)
reasons to choose ROTC:1.for me, the training develops a sense of discipline and comraderie (yeah right...)
2.you get to hangout with crazy people which means you get a lot of laughs and a lot of crazy
side comments (which could get you in trouble if your in rank)
3.you get to handle some guns baby!... need i say more.
4. who ever said that its only the cadets and cadettes who are crazy, the best part is that
you get to hangout with real soldiers and as a result you get to hear some crazy stories!
5.you gotta admit, your a real "man" if you take ROTC, and last but not the least...
6.if there's a war and everyone had to be called to duty, your already an officer, and those who
didnt take ROTC, aren't. so if you take ROTC, pray for an invasion a few years from now!

unsa man, tabangan nato, daghan bitaw ta..." ("lets get this guy, there's a lot of us anyway")
-a fellow cadete in charlie company, refering to the officer (who wasnt even assigned to our company) after threatening us. fortunately for him the officer did'nt hear him. :P
